Re: HSN host walking around with coffee

@shoekitty  David named it, "Little David." It's his Cabbage Patch doll that was made for him years ago.  He brings it out from time to time.

Cute is not the word I'd use.

But some like it and have asked him to have Little David made and sell in his show.

I don't watch HSN, but I know they used to do the same on QVC, as they do on late night talk shows. Although in that case they might throw in a little Baileys, lol. I would think it gives a homey, certain vibe to the show. Puts you at ease. Although, as the case of the OP , you might get fixated on the coffee cup instead of the product. Hey, it happens,  it does give the host and especially guests something to do with their hands.

Oh good grief 😂.  You must be kidding.  Obviously you've been in any professional setting anywhere in the past 40 years.  Because coffee is everywhere.  And there's nothing "professional" about shopping channels.

Re: HSN host walking around with coffee

It's ok to put the mug or the cardboard Starbucks cup on the set under the table or behind something on the table and take a sip now and then. But to walk around with a Starbucks cup like it's stuck to your hand. That's not professional. How would it look if a sales lady in a store had a Starbucks cup and was showing you clothing or an attorney in Court or in his office walking as round with the cup. It's a bad look.

There are other things that have happened with a host or two, that I would say are unprofessional, but not holding a coffee cup!

They might be getting an individual 'thank you' from SB's.

It is a form of on air advertising.

Good for all concerned!

Including the energy boost for some hosts.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Re: HSN host walking around with coffee

p.s.  Maybe some sort of on-air advertising deal was made.

'All in all', 'Que Sera Sera, whatever will be will be'.........

As long as all is well.

Have a nice week, everyone here.

Re: HSN host walking around with coffee

Don't most host and spokesperson on a variety of different shows usually have a mug with a beverage beside them, in front of them, or somewhere within easy reach in the event it's needed during lengthy periods of talking?

Non-issue as far as I can tell.
