Hosts have been carrying around coffee since the dawn of home shopping.

I don't get how holding a cup of coffee makes a shopping host unprofessional.  If someone wants me to change my mind, they need to explain with some detail what she wasn't doing that is expected of that host.

As long as they're doing their job properly, what does it matter.  All that talking wears on  the throat.  Maybe it's tea like I drink, or just water.  Also could be a prop as others have said.

I always walk around with a coffee, I don't see a problem with it.  It makes it look like a relaxed atmosphere in the morning, hence the wine glasses at 5:00!!  LOL

It's no different than Q hosts with a glass of wine in the evenings.  Setting the mood.   Many news anchors and TV personalities have coffee in the morning.  HSN is mirroring this, trying to be familiar and cozy.   Doesn't bother me.

I have no problem with it..I'd bet HSN/QVC got plenty of "calls".. "Where can I buy that cup"!

It's called marketing.
