@chickenbutt wrote:Yay, it's snowing!! It's nothing major - just a medium snow so far with nice-sized flakes, but I'll take it.
I noticed about 2:30 (little over an hour ago) it did start coming down the mountain and then all of a sudden I could not see the mountains at all (meaning it's snowing up there). Just a couple minutes ago I looked out and noticed snowing. It's still almost 40 degrees out there so, unless it cools down a bit, it probably won't amount to much. But -
YAY, it's snowing
YIKES ! It's too early for snow, here.
It's been cold and raining here today. The past 4 days were wonderful - sunny and warm. Indian Summer, I enjoyed it.

@NoelSeven wrote:It was hot in the Bay Area for months and months! Awful. Where was the good old SF fog, we wondered.
And then, within mere days, it seems we almost bypassed Fall and went straight to Winter.
Early morning today we had RAIN, thunder storms and lightening. Close areas are recording temps in the 30s and 40s.
It depnds on the day of the week here. 60's high one day and low 80's the nest. We did have one night it got down near 30. That was cold. We have had our share of rain as most states have.

They do seed here - on the CA side and the east side. But the thing is - you need a certain amount of base to seed upon. You can't just do all seeding without a significant base.
It's snowing even better now. YAYYY!
Chicky loves winter.

80 degrees and absolutely perfect in the S.E. Valley of Az. However, tomorrow it's supposed to drop to 68 and then the low 70's the rest of the week. So, no complaints.

I got out my favorite robe, a gift from my daughter last Christmas. Deep, deep red and nice and warm
I've been wearing my shearling slippers and robe for about a week now.

Beautiful fall rain here on the east side of the SF Bay. I love the wonderful fall weather we have here. Golden light in the afternoon (when the rain stops) makes it truly seem like fall.
There's no true chill yet. I hope we get freezing temps this winter. That helps to kill off the more undesirable garden bugs. And I bought those Mukluk gloves so I want a chance to wear them! I haven't even turned on the heat in the house yet.
I can't wait for later in November when the toadstools sprout. Here they are from a few years ago.

Hi HG ![]()
ABC has or had it in the 30s in a few places outside of San Jose and Morgan Hill. I think it's still on their online map.

My thoughts too! Doesn't tell you much if you don't know the location.
Central Florida has been in the 80s with rain. Started before noon and slowly ending.
Does Florida get cold? Of course! It is is going to be in the high 50s this weekend (for just one morning). Had a record high of 91 this week.

It was definitely a day to stay in today, the rain made it feel much colder. When I was driving home around 5:30pm today, the temp had gone up to about 58. Tomorrow it is supposed to reach about 61 but we are going to get rain all day tomorrow too it looks like. Then a little sun and Thursday is supposed to be 70.
I always think about California and how much they need many days of rain. Slow steady rain with breaks in between so the ground has a chance to soak it up.
In the past I have read about how ski resorts use cloud seeding to get more base snow. I wonder why this hasn't been tried in California. I am sure there is a reason they aren't doing it. I should read more about that to see why.

Hi Irsh!
As far as I know, there haven't been clouds to seed. But now the ski area is getting more percipitation than we are, so maybe they don't need to now. It's only been cold around her for a few days.
