I also see them as an odd couple.  It's not because he plays a gay man (he happens to be a good actor and does the part very well!) but because she's such a controlling fitness freak and he's a bit out of shape.

 I would think that she would want to be with someone who finds being thin & fit important.

Not really dating per se......more like mutually using each other. When BF and ES met up a couple of months ago at ABC's upfronts for the upcoming season, B told Eric she is eager to get into scripted comedy or drama. Eric told her he could help her because of his connections and success. Mutually advantageous team up, where both people are willing to pay (one way or the other) for what they want.

I've never heard of the show....much less the actor.  When I saw the news blurb yesterday, I thought it looked like an odd match.
