My hobby is creating floral and natural wreaths.  My frames include wire, styrofoam, straw, hats and grapevines in a variety of sizes.  Actually, the smaller wreaths are harder to make because the flowers I use are so small and the glue burns my fingers.  I use silk flowers, natural materials, decorative items, ribbon, lace, and bows in my wreaths.  I recently purchased mesh material and will make my first mesh wreath this week.

I do not sell any of my wreaths.  Rather, I give them as birthday, Christmas, just because, or other special occasion gifts to family and friends.  They are all one of a kind.  No two are alike.  And, of course, I use them in various locations at my home.

Here is a sample of a spring wreath:

I never had much in the way of hobbies.  I'm very much NOT creative.

But I love taking pictures.  I take pictures pretty much every day.   These days, I mostly take pics of the various birdies on my property, as I love the birdies so much.  Smiley Happy

I could relate to your post. I’ve tried all kinds of things over the years but I’m not very creative either.  When I retired I began taking photos on my nature walks and a new hobby was born.  I really enjoy it even though I don’t know anything about photography.  It’s been interesting (and frustrating) trying to catch wildlife before they run away or see me.  I sometimes wish I had a cloaking device like they use on Star Trek.

When I was a young teenager, I used to do rug hooking and paper quilling, and also crewel work.

I focused on crewel work the most, and then picked it up again when I was first married because my MIL was into it, and would send kits to me to work on.

Then I didn't have as much time to focus on it, but I have been thinking about picking up some of these hobbies again. Smiley Happy

I think that I would like to especially get into the crewel work again.

@Nataliesgramma, do you do those little "fairy gardens" then?

What is Dept 56?

Hi, @Newgate. In the past, I really enjoyed needlework of any kind, tried quilting, knitting & rug hooking, but always came back to embroidery & cross stitch.

once I became caregiver/advocate for first my MIL , then my own mum, it all got put to the side.

Now I'm just retired, I recently got out my threads & some unfinished projects, tho my eyes have changed so much, it has been harder to work on them, but the love of doing it is still there.  🙂

really nice thread, thanks for starting it!

You can create villages, Christmas scenes, just about anything you want @qualitygal with Dept 56 stuff.  Once you start you can't stop.  LOL  Everything is so cute. Smiley Happy
