Props must be given to the bodyguard part in this skit, the way he jumped in every time Solange raised so much as a finger and then he choked/gagged when they said they've never had a rift. HAHAHA

The security guard part also, caught on camera digging, kissing and break dancing was funny, too.

But Maya playing Beyoncé was hiss ster i cal !!!

Hope Bey has a sense of humor about herself.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Kenan Thompson played the role of the bodyguard, he is a regular on SNL and is totally fabulous. He plays so many different characters and really is a brilliant comedian.

You should watch this skit they did earlier in the season, he is playing the role of Steve Harvey hosting "Family Feud" but it was a week when they had Justin Timberlake on, as well as Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy and Justin are good friends in real life, and Justin did a spoof of impersonating Jimmy in the skit. Jimmy couldn't hold it together and at one point you can see him duck down behind the stand and just crack up. It was really funny. I can only imagine the fun they have doing that show, but Kenan is great! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn3r3QZ0asE

That was so awesome! {#emotions_dlg.laugh} Justin was so good there, & is a talented actor in general.

Jimmy was know on SNL for almost loosing it during every extra-funny skit he was in, LOL.

Kenan is funny, that's for sure. Never saw him on MTV's "Kenan & Kel" show, though.

I set my DVR to record all of Maya's shows. She is just hilarious.

I've liked all the movies she's been in, too.

Me, too.

Have you seen "Away We Go" with her & sweet/cute John Krasinski in it? Nice character & situation study with humor as well.

Yes, we enjoyed that movie. She was pregnant in that one. And "Bridesmaids," of course. Have you seen "The Way, Way Back"? She has a small part. Another good one.

It was clever and hilarious. Maya was really the best part as Beyonce. Loved her line that she woke up and found the "vidya" of them and she said "Uh oh uh oh uh oh, no no no!* And they kept the fan blowing in her hair the whole time. It was just too funny!

I am looking forward to Maya's variety show, she is such a clever comedian and actress and I can see it being good family entertainment like the Carol Burnett Show was when I was growing up.

I know! {#emotions_dlg.lol}

The fan on just her was perfect, as everywhere she goes that's what happens, LOL. Smiley Wink

Me too, and she can sing as well. I looked forward to "The Carol Burnett Show also' - consistently-good weekly family entertainment has been missing for a long time.

Do you remember when they sold the Carol Burnett Show dvd's on an infomercial? At the time I caved and purchased them for my parents because they enjoyed the show so much. I cancelled before we got them all, but we got lots and I still have them. It was such a great variety show with costumes and singing and dancing. Carol and Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, and Tim Conway were just a perfect combination. They had so many great guest stars too. There are too many great comedy moments, but the one that still stand out in my mind was their reproduction of "Gone With The Wind" when Carol comes down the stairs in the curtain-rod dress. "I saw it in the window and just couldn't resist it!" {#emotions_dlg.lol}

I think Maya's show will be awesome, hope people embrace it. If the writers are anything like SNL, they will keep it modern and fresh, and she seems to be connected with the best in the business. I'm looking forward to it. There are so many dumb shows on TV, it's about time there was some truly good entertainment.

There's a rerun on now of Maya doing ""Oprah's Favorite Things""! A riot!!!

Thank you for mentioning this as I have been looking for that clip for a long time! I did a search and found it! I didn't know it was Maya Rudolph as I rarely watch SNL.

It is one of the funniest things I've ever seen and now I can watch it any time I want.

Just crazy funny!

Not yet, but's it's on my list. Thanks for letting me know. 8)

She has three or four little ones with talented & cute director Paul Thomas Anderson now (they've been married 13 years), so I hope this show is a hit for her. A regular schedule for mama would be great.

Kinda.

That was a blast, and now a classic!

I loved when they 'viciously' played the board game "Sorry" with Mama, and the way Eunice (Carol) would yell "SORR RREE!". {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

There's been a petition on Facebook for Carol to host SNL; would be a total riot for sure.

Good point & ITA re: Maya's show; can't wait to see it. 8)

I look forward to Maya's show tonight. Sidenote, did you guys know she's Minnie Riperton's daughter, a singer from the '70s? The song I remember her from is "Lovin' You".

Looooovin' yoooou is easy 'cuz your beautiful...la la la la la, la la la la la, oooohhh oooohhh oooohhh ooohh oooh! Hated that song!{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

And no I didn't know she was her daughter, who is her father?

Ahh... those lovely lyrics & that pure angelic soprano. Except, at least for me, when she hit those extremely high notes. Smiley Wink

See my post further down for the answer. 8)

Thanks Feline Fine and lulu2! What a cutie Maya was! I remember watching the Carol Burnette show with my Mom. Even though I was only in grade school at the time I thought she was hilarious! My mother loved her gowns, too.

I think Maya's show is just this one night{#emotions_dlg.sad}, but if it gets a good response she'll do moreSmile. I think I saw her on the Today show or ET talking about it.
