Very interesting !!!!!!  I am half Sicilian and half Slovak and there aren't any redheads in my family.  Dark hair on one side and blonds on the other. 

However, I had a good friend who had lovely red hair and lots of freckles, she was Irish.  I also have a close friend who is German and has red hair , no freckles!!!!  I think red hair is lovely !!

My father was a redhead. Out of the four of us siblings, none of us have red hair. I came the closest as I had strawberry blonde hair as a child. Three of my sister's four kids have some shade of red hair!

  We are of Scottish, English, German, Russian and Slovak ancestry.

I'm a redhead; inherited from my maternal great grandfather of German descent.  Both daughters are blondes.  To my knowledge, my dads family has no history of natural redheads; my farm grandpa knew of no redheads in his family, prior to me.

No redheads here except when I colored my hair red for a few years. It was hard to keep up. 

Wonder what that area is in Russia (I think it's Russia) where there are redheads?  Its all alone in the middle of the country.

My 9-1/2 yr old great nephew is the only freckled redhead 🧑‍🦰 in our family. He is always getting complements on his curly red hair. I think it's beautiful 😍 

He has to watch his time in the sun due to easily sunburned.

Oh, how I adore red hair!  Especially when it's thick and curly (which it very often is).  

No redheads in my family.  No redhead friends either.  I did go to high school (back in the early 70's) with two girls that had those enviable red curls.  Lucky them!

I'm both Irish and Scottish -- but still missed out on the red hair.

My step daughter is a redhead...on my street - out of 16 homes, 12 had a redhead or two living in them.  As a blonde I stand out like a sore thumb!

@MoonieBaby   Born and raised in Philly.  Not understanding your Fishtown/Port Richmond comment.  Are you saying there are a lot of redheads there?  Never noticed.

My paternal family is from Wales.  My Grandmother had reddish hair, my dad had some red and I had some in my hair.  I was told by several hair stylists over my younger years that I had a lot of red to my hair but it was overpowered by the brown.  On my maternal side my grandmothers family is Irish.
