Thought the map above, of the highest instances of red hair in the world, was amusing.

It's not all that surprising. Scotland and Ireland, of course. Norway, definitely-- redheaded Vikings, etc.

Was a little surprised at Wales, because even before the Celts, there was the Iberian component there ( Spain and Portugal), not known for high incidence of red hair.
Very interesting that there's a little 'hot pocket' of red hair (over 10% of the population) way over in Slavic Russia. See that big red and orange blotch, over there on the right, on the map? Looked it up in Wiki, which said this:
In the late 18th century, ethnographers considered the Udmurt people of the Volga region in Russia to be the most red haired people in the world. It's still considered to be among the top sources for them.

But there are red haired people, even if rare, on the continents of Asia and Africa too, in Polynesia, almost everywhere, as Wiki illustrates.

In my family, I have three redheads that I can think of-- my husband, my neice, and my late brother-in-law. Oh, just realized one of my cousins has strawberry-blonde hair, if you count that. The other three are out-and-out carrot tops! All four of them, beautiful red hair.
Are you a redhead? Auburn? Do you have redheads in your family?
