Just saw on TV tonight that you should save those little silione packets that come inside shoe boxes and handbags and suitcases. They are put there because they dry things out. Worth a try for your remote.

I went overboard yesterday and sterilized all of our remotes after reading that they are breeding grounds for bacteria. Suffice to say they didn't work after my thorough cleaning but when my husband came home he popped out the batteries and replaced them with new ones. He took a blow-dryer first and dried the remotes out. They are all working again!

These ideas are great! I would've thought the creamer in the coffee would make it hard to make the remotes work again.

Thankyou everyone for your help. I did the rice thing and had some coffee drenched rice at the bottom! Blew dry, too. The TV one now works, but not comcast one. So I'm going to the comcast store now. The people on this board are so smart,Ive gotten so much help here over the years. Love you guys.😍
