HE top loading washer--Help!

I have a maytag top loading washer HE, that I got about 6 months ago.

I HATE it.

Most of the time when washing clothes some of them come out of the washer with spots

that no water touched, still dry. I laugh and think next time perhaps that spot will be washed.

Do you use the bulky/towel/sheet setting so it uses deep water?

What is your secret to make all of the clothes get wet when being washed.

I wish like crazy we had spent the money to repair the old one that the repair guy said

wasn't worth fixing.

Maybe you should contact the manufacturer.  Perhaps they have an idea.  Maybe the electronics aren't sensing the weight of your loads and letting enough water in.  Good luck.

Re: HE top loading washer--Help!

I just bought a Maytag with the deep fill option on it and a full agitator. I really like it. I've had it for about a month now. When it is first filling with water, the tub actually spins very slowly so the water pouring in really saturates the clothing. Then as it starts to agitate, it is still filling with water. I think this really helps get the clothes fully saturated and of course clean.

Have a Maytag HE toploading washer too-had it for about 4 years and LOVE it.

Always use the normal cycle or the colors cycle-  Never had an issue-would suggest you get in touch with the dealer or manufacturer as this sounds like a "lemon" kind of issue.

Good luck.

I have a Samsung top load and I love it.  It is top rated with Consumer Reports.  I have never had any problems, and my loads come out very clean.  Maybe the washer needs to be checked to see if the water level is correct for each load.  Mine is automatic.  Your washer should still be under warranty.

@petepetey  I have a Maytag and I always use the deep water wash function for anything but delicates and very small loads.

I've been there...you need to use the setting with the highest water amount with every load & hope for the best because an additional problem is that the agitation doesn't draw the items being cleaned from the top of the tub to the bottom & backup, they basically stay in the same place. I couldn't wait to get rid of my HE washer & found a small appliance store with an owner who gets it so now I have a washer that fills the tub with water, the lid opens when running, has a center agitator, has dials & it cleans! I'm happy. The owner only recommends 1 Maytag washer & no longer recommends Speed Queen...there are lots of awful washers to choose from, sorry OP you got stuck with one. Good Luck.

Re: HE top loading washer--Help!

When I had to purchase a new washer several years ago I looked at the Consumer Report buying guide.  It did not recommend top load HE washers for getting clothes clean.  The only HE washers they recommended at that time were front loaders.
