I actually remember men wearing those shiny, colorful shirts in the late 70's and early 80's.

YES!   The fabric was called Quiana ... wonder what happened to it, lol.

I had a gorgeous lemon yellow Quiana shirtdress that garnered a lot of compliments back then .... and boy was it short!   Woman LOL

@Tinkrbl44   My husband had a baby blue "leisure suit" back in the late 70's...It would be a great Halloween costume today.... 🤗

Does anyone remember them?

My late husband also had a baby blue leisure suit in the 70's. They must have shopped at the same store.Smiley Happy  They were all the rage back then.  My husband also had a coordinating floral shirt to go with.  Looking back, it was NOT a good look but was very on trend at the time.  It most definitely would make a fabulous Halloween costume today.Smiley Surprised

Men's leisure suits were odd, IMO .... but I recall liking the Nehru jackets.   Remember those?

I only ever had one pair of those heinous "double knit" pants, and I only had them for a day.  They were a Christmas gift and were returned at warp speed.

I never had any shirts with island scenery printed on shiny material.  I remember chinos being my lifeline throughout those bleak double knit days.

Thank God for Wranglers, Levis, Dockers and oxford cloth button down shirts.  They were able to keep me from becoming a devout nudist.

Oh, wow --- I guess a lot of the things I used to own, wear and love really could be.  However, quite a few things have become fashionable again!  Nothing new under the sun, as the saying goes.

@Tinkrbl44    OMG....I forgot about the Nehru jackets.  Yes...my husband had one.  He also has his share of black leather jackets....and the very long black wool coats.  He looked very "mob".  I will never forget when my daughter was in college.  He would visit her on campus in his attire.  She called me one day and asked me if her dad could wear something different ...possibly a hoodie.  😄
