@Diamonds22 I meant to ask you, is the card still made up of thin paper? We laminated the cards we have now because they were so skimpy. Thanks.

Still waiting. But about time.
Do you mean the Medicare Card? I wasn't aware the Social Security card was being changed.

Yes, Bonnie, I think it's the Medicare card, not SS card.

I think it's new medicare cards not soc. sec. and no, I haven't received yet. They said it could take several months. If it's alphabetically, I have a time to wait.

My recollection is that they are rolling these out based on the month of your birth. My birthday isn't until March, so I'll be among the last, based on when they started.

Yes! And also, it is my FIRST Medicare card. I turn 65 in June. I was told by SS that the new cards will be sent out in Florida in June. I know that some in Michigan have received theirs already. I took it that they are doing it by state.

They are sending them out in what they refer to as Waves, by state starting in May 2018. My state is in the first wave but we have not received ours yet.
New recipients will get theirs immediately.
Obtained above from the CMS web site.

On May 2nd I received an email from Medicare.gov. It stated that I would receive my new Medicare card sometime this month. They were to start mailing out on May 4th. I still have not received mine. They said it would take a month.
There was a map that showed which states would get cards this month. They were VA, PA, WV DE, MD and I suppose Washington, DC. I could not tell from looking at map. Hope this helps.
