When I was little I would ask my mother why she had me right after Christmas instead of in the summer and she'd say an angel told her that was what God planned.

You are very welcome Oznell. My father who was the smartest, most wonderful man I have ever known celebrated his birthday on the 8th of January, Happy Birthday Daddy, I love you.

My Mom so loved being born on January 1 except that a "boy" beat her out by minutes in our town back in 1943 by being the first baby of the year. She never lost that tone of voice when she said that boy in regards to that story.

I spent time yesterday reviewing old photos of her and telling her Happy Birthday upon rising and upon laying my head back on the pillow last night.

Happy Birthday to all the January/Garnet Women.
