You know this 'conscious uncoupling' sounds weird to me. But from what I understand they were into having an 'open' marriage. Don't know if that was mutual or not. But you really have to be conscious of the repercussions of such an agreement. Guess it doesn't work out some of the time....

They are having a ""conscious uncoupling"" because divorce is so ""common"" and her royal highness is so ""above all that"".

I think somebody else said it already -""Vapid""

Yep.

What has happened to her? She used to come across as so humble when she first hit the scene, I found her refreshing. Now she comes across as an elitist snot. Was she always this way...or did the lifestyle and wealth change her? Either way she is becoming...very unlikable.

Lifestyle and wealth I believe. I don't know I remember when she started out and there were little hints of the snobbery and elitist attitude..

You could be right...maybe it was always there and I missed it. What a shame she can not be more reflective and see how truly blessed and lucky she is.

I wasn't raised by a single parent, but come on......it is one of the most difficult things to do, raising a child/children, and working, without helpers/assistants/nannies/cooks/money. She needs to get over herself.

ITA Future. Her mother appears to be one class act. I don't really dislike G, but I do think she appears a bit haughty.

I'm not even a mother and it annoyed me to no end.

Personally, I've never been able to appreciate her "talent" whatever that might be.

As others have already said, clueless, vapid, out-of-touch.

I think she's a good actress, but very out of touch with reality.

She offended a lot of women with her comments.

reminds me of that billionaire who stated that the 1% work harder than anyone else.

totally out of touch. GP can hire nannies and top quality care. Most working moms cannot.

Most of what she said was taken out of context by some malicious reporter who had an axe to grind. Yes, she said what was quoted but she meant it in a different context. She was lamenting how being on set made it all but impossible to be there for her child and she wished that she could be there more often and compared working women that have jobs nine to five ......it would be easier for her if she had one too.

She doesn't need to work. She could very easily stay home with her children.

It comes off as very offensive - no matter the context.

I don't know too many people (women included) who work 9 to 5 anymore, which is almost considered part-time these days. Clocking in and out seems to be a thing of the past. Now there are mothers who choose to find part-time jobs for the express purpose of being able to be a more present mother. Maybe that's what GP is talking about? Nevertheless it seems to me that once a movie is wrapped, her work is over and what with all her money, she is free to spend as much time with her kids as she wants without boss repercussion. Maybe some women would find her lifestyle more appealing.

ITA. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what your last name is....it's just you & your kids. I posted this on the "other thread":

Seems They are BOTH appreciating each other. I think Gwyneth, like many other Hollywood types, have been fodder for tabloid "sound bites"...it only takes one story to get the "piranhas" going. I saw this story on Google...if true, it sounds like they're both mature enough to think about the welfare of their kids.

Gwyneth Paltrow is apparently going on tour with Coldplay despite splitting from Chris Martin, joking that she will be their "roadie".

The Hollywood actress and the band's frontman announced the end of their 10-year marriage last week in a post on Gwyneth's lifestyle website Goop titled Conscious Uncoupling, but insisted they still loved each other and would always be a family.

And now The Sun has reported that Gwyneth and Chris are staying true to their word by hitting the road together when Coldplay tour with their upcoming record later this year.

It seems Gwyneth is keen to accompany Chris so that the couple's children - nine-year-old daughter Apple and son Moses, seven - get plenty of time with their dad.
