@goldensrbest, I've tried it several times this year after I found out that Amazon Prime members got free delivery for a year. I'd say I've used them about ten times with no issue on their part. There was one time that my order was from Panera, a fairly large order and the family size salad was not there. I called Grubhub and they asked for order info which I gave and was surprised when I was told that except for the tip and a service charge (I think), the actual Panera cost would be waived. I had to wait a couple of days to see the credit on my charge card but it happened. I don't know f that was supposed to happen but it did.

@goldensrbest The more we can do for ourselves, the more we have left to spend on what's important to us. Right now paying for delivery isn't one of my needs, so I don't order either groceries or meals. That's this week - no way to know when ordering will become a necessity!

I had never ordered anything grocery or takeout for myself, even during Covid. Then last Christmas someone gave me a doordash gift card. I did not use it until August this summer. I was shocked at the fees and tips attached to all the orders. I finally finished the card with a couple of orders then went back to drive thru windows myself.
I am happy this all offered for people who cannot or do not want to get out. For myself every time I think about paying those fees just makes me think of less $$ going into my savings accounts. It is hard to reconcile in my mind that my usual order from Chick-fil-a would be about double than if I drove to go pick it up.
Never tried GrubHub.

We use Grub Hub or Uber eats a couple of times a week. Of course there are fees. How could the stay in business if they didn't charge? However some restaurants do pick up the delivery charge so it's no charge for the customer. The Italian restaurant that we love do much does that. I suppose whether it's expensive or not depends on the individual. I'm all into delivery services because it gives me time to do what I want to do. I think these things are a great advantage for elderly and disabled people like my sister who can afford them.

All those delivery services are stupid expensive--but have to say that I get more coupon offers from GrubHub Eats than from Doordash--and some of them are very generous $$ off, like almost the cost of 1 meal, off. I can't tell you the number of times, I go to Paneras website to have stuff delivered and they always screwed up something---am not ordering like I used to ----Last time I ordered, they dropped the bag on my doorstep and I went to get it----a crow had ripped open the bag and stole a bagel !!! Not Paneras fault of course, just a funny thing--those dang crows are creepy smart!!! Then he laughed (cawed) at me from the top of the carport at my apt building!!The nerve!!![]()

Thanks for the info. I always order groceries from instacart, but I've never ordered prepared food from a resturant. Of the two, Door Dash seems to be more expensive. Grub Hub less so. Even during the pandemic, I've never ordered. The closest I've done is ordering pizza. So how do you order from Grub Hub? Do you order directly from the restaurant and what ever carrier they have sends it to you? I'll have to look at the different places you can order from the Grub Hub listing. I do have Prime.

Is doordash free with prime, also? And i also would like to understand signing in for prime to see about ordering either doordash,or grub hub, thanks.

Even without the fees I noticed on the Doordash menu for my favorite items were more than when I ordered from the live person with an ipad at a drive thru. Fees and tips are one thing but charging more for the actual food is ridiculous.
