Our favorite game to play with a group is Bunco.  Ideally, you need at least 8 people, preferably in groups of 4.  It's a fast moving, simple dice game.  And you are always moving to different tables, so you aren't sitting with the same people all night.  Great way for people to get to know each other.  Very easy to learn.

Tomorrow evening a group of about 20 ladies are getting together for our first Bunco night. None of us, except for the hostess, know how to play Bunco so this should be interesting. Some of us are old gals over 70, the rest are our daughters and their friends in their 40's and 50's and my granddaughter who is 21. Hostess is providing wine and soda; rest of us bringing snacks and appetizers. We plan to meet 4 times/year. Should be a fun evening if it doesn't run too far past my bedtime!

My parents were part of the WW II "Greatest Generation", aka the cocktail party group. Playing cards was a huge part of their social life. They were crackerjack Bridge players, individually and together. Also played Canasta, Gin Rummy, and Poker. Mom always told me she learned to drink coffee and play Bridge in college. My hubby, age 82, plays Pinochle but has given it up due to most of his playing partners passing on.
