Publix has printed grocery list forms in the front of their store.  It is not about the layout of the store but each category like deli, bakery seafood, etc.  I always keep them handy and add to my list as I am cooking and use the end of a jar or finish using chicken etc.  Love their printed lists!

I'm a list person, too - and not just for groceries. I've been making grocery lists since we got married 48 years ago. I kept doing it throughout the years because it helped save time. First, I check the new digital coupons to see if I want to clip any, then I check out the ones I've already clipped. Next, I plan our menu for the week. Finally, I compose my list with the items I need for the week's meals, items on the shopping list on the fridge and items for coupons that expire soon. Some people think this is ******, but it works for me.

@qualitygal I am familiar with my store so I also do my list by isle. It works out pretty well.

Normally I just wing it.   Thankfully I still have my memory (for the most part) so I have a mental inventory of practically everything in my cupboards and frig.  I will make a list on paper if I am making a certain recipe though, as there is nothing worse than forgetting that one important ingredient!    I actually enjoy browsing through the market, I find interesting items at times.  I also shop around at different stores in my area, not so much to price compare but just to have a variety of different brands.

I normally go to the grocery store once a month and stock up.  I keep a running list all month long of things I run out of or need, etc.  Then, the week I'm going to go, I'll type it out with like things together.  I can't do it by store layout since I go to two stores.  I'll also check the ads online to see if something is on sale that I might have picked up at the other store.

@CalminHeart   My favorite supermarket chain used to have a location I could shop without getting into the excess traffic nowadays, so I'm trying other stores.  Sometimes the one people try to convince me is less expensive is. Some things are but that store doesn't have a good selection for my needs.

Also, sometimes what seems like it hasn't increased in price is just an illusion.  Last week I grabbed what I though was the same price as when I bought it in the past, but when I got home I compared the new to the old, I saw the  same prices but the new has fewer servings.  That's a price increase i didn't know I was paying and wouldn't have known if for some reason I hadn't saved the empty bag.

I use my St. Jude paper pads as my grocery list.

I've done the phone but it takes forever to get into Google Home sometimes and a paper list is one and done.

It stays on my planner at home and in my purse when I leave the house in case I hit the grocery store at some point.

I actually go through the flyers online and make my list and Kroger actually has digital coupons that I clip while I am there to get some money back although I usually go to another store closer by.

After my spinal fusion surgery PT told me to try to walk beside the cart instead of behind.  Pushing the cart will use your back and pulling the cart uses mostly your arms.

You needed PT after spinal fusion?  I didn't (mine was C5/C6) but I had restrictions until the fusion was complete.  During that time, I couldn't push the cart or lift much of anything so my husband did it all.

I do Walmart Grocery pickup.  No need for lists and I generally start the next order as soon as I get home from picking up the current one.  I just add things as I think of them. This works best for me.

When I kept lists on paper and went into stores, I would always get to the store to realize the list was still  sitting on the kitchen counter.  Once smart phones came into my life I always kept my list there.  I too am a list person, only because if I don't I will have forgotten something.
