I'm contemplating signing up for an annual $59 Boost next day delivery, $99 same day grocery delivery service for our local King Soopers Kroger stores.

Price seems reasonable especially with a $20 off offer and 30 day trial.

I'm guessing with the delivery a tip is still an option?  I think it was @Kachina624 that had a free delivery subscription, was it for grocery or Walmart?

Wondering if anyone uses these services and if they have had a good experience.  Our delivery can be either inhouse King Soopers or Instacart, haven't had a great experience with Instacart but that was pandemic times.

TIA

Re: Grocery Delivery Services

@rockygems123  My daughter gifted me my first WalMart delivery subscription and it was a Godsend. I have since renewed it a couple of times when they run their special for $59 (I think - might have been $49). You can get it within hours or whatever day and time you choose and it's left at my front door (my choice). There are tip options if you want or not at all with no problem. If there IS a mess up they are on it immediately! Produce, dairy, frozen are well received and handled better than I could in my car. Keep in mind this is not just for groceries but the whole web site. I ordered a bicycle for my GS, cases of drinks and other heavy, bulky items I wouldn't be able to handle on my own, potting soil, tools, rocks, live plants for my garden, fresh deli, pizza, hot meal, etc. Anyhow, you get it ~ I'm pleased. Tried Instacart and one other that I didn't like. Hope this helps.

@Spacrazy I agree 100 percent with what you said.  I have been happy beyond my dreams with Walmart pickups and deliveries!  Best thing ever.  I plan on never going in a grocery store again.

We used to do Whole Foods pickups until road work and tie ups got too bad to go there.  It was first-class, concierge, hand selected, etc.  But we had switch to Walmart in our town and I can't say enough good about their pickups and deliveries.

And we've used instacart and not so good.  We do buy meat and poultry from Costco through home delivery frozen,  or from a local butcher and are happy with that too.

@Spacrazy

Yes thanks that helps a lot.  Smiley Happy  Coincidentally just saw a Walmart Plus commercial while watching a Food Network taped show.  Will definitely check into it!

Re: Grocery Delivery Services

I'd like to add my voice to those pleased with Walmart delivery service especially for groceries.  No problems at all other than a choice being out of stock but they give me the option to choose something else.

I do tip for grocery delivery but feel it's well worth it especially for heavy items.  I tried Instacart and didn't like it at all.

Re: Grocery Delivery Services

@rockygems123    I signed up for Wal-Mart home delivery when they had a special for $49. a year.  Its been wonderful for me, especially when it was so hot.  Now I'm spoiled.

The only snafu occurred when they delivered my tiny order AND somebody else's huge order.  They didn't want to come and get it so I had all this food and no place to put it.  The neighbors benefited, and so did I.

You are expected to tip for delivery service.  Our store uses Grub Hub for delivery and they must buy their own gas.  They seem to do a very good job.  Always prompt with the time I choose.

Re: Grocery Delivery Services

[ Edited ]

I have used Walmart delivery and pickup, Instacart from Publix, and Kroger Delivery. Kroger comes in refrigerated trucks. The drivers are not allowed to accept a tip. I will tell you that to me, at times, grocery delivery is a life-saver. I think it is worth it. the most expensive is instacart.

I especially liked it during the pandemic but also when I was sick at home. Definitely worth the money for me.

I will also shout out to Walmart about the great service I have had with delivery and pick-up. In my eyes, Walmart really helped me get what I needed during the pandemic. I was buying for 2 households and was able to do well with Walmart, Sams Club and Costco, for things that were generally in short supply at the time. Very pleased with Walmart.

Re: Grocery Delivery Services

I've already posted of my very disappointing experience with Walmart+ home delivery service. The only other alternatives I have are Winn-Dixie and Kroger that are no where near me and Publix that uses Instacart. I wish the Walmart delivery people could correctly find address so I could use them, but apparently that's not to be. Shop in the stores I go then.

Re: Grocery Delivery Services

Instacart delivery here for Wegmans....excellent service.

A tip is added to bill but I can change it if I so desire.... which I never have.
