I remember reading a Post here years ago where a Poster was expecting a few packages. The packages came and upon opening one, she realized that enclosed was an "adult thing" so she checked the name and address and realized that it belonged to her neighbors who were also her friends. From what I remember she gave it to them.
If it were me I would have taped it back up and leave it in front of their door lol. That was a time before cameras.

I don't have time to read all the responses. But as someone who sells things online, it is not fair to the seller to have to replace something that the buyer never got because the post office mis delivered.

I'd call the company and tell them you never got it.
Call the delivery company and tell them your story too.
Now a days, I would not get involved with a neighor, unless you know them. They may have pitched already. You could be out of luck. It's not right, but what can you do.

As hard as it is to believe the postal carrier remembered that exact package and where he delivered it....the police actually showed up to confront this neighbor? Must be a small town and the people have lots of time on there hands.

I had this happen a couple of years ago. A gift for my daughter was delivered to neighbors 1/2 mile down our rural gravel road. I got an email stating the package was delivered, nope, no package delivered to me. Checked with the P.O. next day and they were able to see via GPS exactly where the package was delivered. They left them a note in their mailbox asking them to put the package in their mailbox so it could be delivered to the correct address. They ignored it so our local Post Master paid them a visit and they gave him the package...of course it was opened! I just don't understand people who have no sense of right or wrong and evidently no conscience either!

True enough. I'm left wondering how the PO could track a misdelivered package to a specific address. Simply because they indicated that they could and did does not prove that the allegedly villainous neighbor got the package. Right or wrong, the vendor is responsible for making good on the sale and they can then take it up with the PO if they choose to do so. Otherwise, simply dispute the charge, assuming the item was paid for with a card unless the vendor sends a replacement.

I disagree with this, @stevieb. The vendor shipped the item, and once it leaves their hands are not responsible for what happens to it.
Many etsy vendors are very small shops, so it's unfair to expect them to replace & reship the item.

I've had this happen to me with our next door neighbor. Two packages from Amazon, which where long sleeve t-shirts that I saw her wearing. About a month ago it was a pair of timberland hiking boots. Each time there was a picture from the carrier sent to my email address and it was her house. We don't have any dealings with her son I had to call the companies and they refunded me.

I'd never have my prescriptions delivered by mail.
Between the weather, post office mix ups, holidays every month, forget it.
I'll get off my rump and go to the pharmacy.

@PJinIA that's what I'm talking about. GPS really works and I do believe that the package was delivered exactly to that neighbor who refuses to give it up.
