I agree, especially since there's no way to definitively prove that it was delivered to that neighbor.

If it was me I would just order another scarf from the Etsy seller and just try to forget about it. Life is difficult enough. It's a material thing that can be replaced.

They could also post something on nextdoor dot com, that would be shaming of course but sounds like they deserve it!

@spumoni99  Just no!

First - Next Door will not allow it and naming the neighbor will give the neighbor what she needs to sue if Next Door does not catch it right away.

All the neighbor has to do is say she never saw the package so someone else probably stole it.

@spumoni99   I like this idea!  They could post a general comment about a misdelivered package and to please reach out if they received it in error.

Re: Grinchy neighbor keeping misdelivered package! GRRR!!!

USA Pan shipped a package to me that had the address in the block before you get to us.  They never shipped me anything about they had sent it out or I would have checked the address.

After quite a while I started to think where is that package, checked and saw what happened.  SO, USA pan said it wasn't their fault, carrier said they didn't know except they delivered it, no record of it had been returned to carrier, etc.

So I'm out about $100 on gifts. It happens and nobody will try to do anything.

@Kachina624Yeah, my head says they are right to let it go.  But my Mom and Grandma claws come out when it's my family.  I can't help but be mad.

Re: Grinchy neighbor keeping misdelivered package! GRRR!!!

Our post office delivers pkgs that are too big to carry in the mornings and then comes later to deliver the mail.

I got a pkg for a neighbor and my mail carrier knows my name and address, not even close.

I don't like this neighbor at all but I left it outside with a note so he could drop it off when they came.

This neighbor never orders anything good so I wasn't even tempted to keep it! lol

The porch pirates are out in droves again! They never get caught even when people get great pics of them with their ring cameras, such a shame.

When we get packages from E-Bay or On Line Pharmacy we get a message on our computer. I think the letter carrier scans it.

Never ordered from Etsy so don't know about them.

Initiate a dispute with the credit card company.

File a complaint with the post office against the mail carrier and also file a complaint with the police

@LdyBugzUnbelievable....people never fail to shock me if she is indeed keeping the pkg.

Hopefully it just wasn't delivered but I agree her response was strange and suspect....

Re: Grinchy neighbor keeping misdelivered package! GRRR!!!

I am doubtful that the neighbors 2 doors down got the package and kept it.  I have gotten many notifications that a package was delivered, but never it shows up.

As someone else pointed out, it would be unlikely the driver could say he specifically delivered that one package to another house with all the deliveries happening.

It is very possible that the woman asked what was in it because she had received some gifts and opened them without checking the label.  I do that all the time.   I would not involve the police or write anything online.  Yes, it is disappointing that the package didn't arrive but I'd give the neighbors the benefit of the doubt.
