I bought one of the Cooks Essentials electric pressure cookers when they were a TSV in Jan 2010. Love the thing, and use it alot.
Last night while cooking dinner, the pressure valve just sheared off. Had to transfer the food to the oven and finish it off there and was not happy since everything took much longer than intended.
Anyway, spoke to CS and they said that they would be happy to accept the item back - even sent me a pre-paid return ticket - or they could ask for a replacement lid. They weren't sure if I'd be able to get a new lid but they would try. All in all, I couldn't ask for them to do more really.
I though about it, and at first decided to return the item and get a new one, but the reviews on the newer pressure cookers aren't all that great, and since mine still works OK, I found the warranty card and thought I'd call the manufacturer today.
They were made by DENI, and they have offered to repair the lid free of charge.
Have to say CS from both companies was excellant, and hopefully I'll be back to cooking in a couple of weeks.
