Ford: I'm surprised you don't know the difference, or didn't realize there is a difference.

"Illiterate," as an adjective, means unable to read or write, and as a noun, means a person who is unable to read or write.

"Uneducated" means lacking knowledge about something. "Uneducated" is more akin to "ignorant" than it is to "unschooled."

I can only say there are differences and changes worth embracing that point toward the betterment of 'society', and there are those to rail against because they point toward devolution... While I realize there are often differences in perception with regard to which are which, it seems there are still some absolutes worth keeping in mind...

Wink

The error noted is pretty obvious and perhaps annoying, but at the end of that long, long day, probably not earth-shattering.

""He don't...."" just makes me shudder. ""Ain't"" is even worse. Kids often adopt their parents' speech habits unless they learn otherwise in school.

I shudder at such examples, too, but if anyone thinks these errors are found only among those who home-school children, s/he needs to get out more.

The "I am better than you" and "I have more education than you" posters are having a ball putting commenters down.

It seems to be unwritten in the community guidelines that all comments must be correct in spelling, grammar, punctuation etc.
