It appears that people are starting more and more and more threads about the royal wedding just to troll everybody because this is abnormal at best, even for this board.

Be as cynical as you want, all of you -- but the thread on the children (and I explained why I started it separately) has a post that is one of the most heartwarming, lovely true-life stories I've ever read on the forums.

Hi Lori.  I understand what you're saying.   The sad thing is, as there are more and more threads on the subject I just stopped opening them and have, so far, missed the lovely story you told.

The main thing is not that people are saying nobody should be discussing this.  It's that most of the threads are the exact same subject and the nature of a board would have that there is one thread for discussing the wedding, not every time somebody has a thought they start a whole new one.

Now, I think I'll check out your thread.  Smiley Happy   When there are so many, there are probably a lot of people who mised your story because it could just appear to be one more thread on the subject.

@chickenbutt, I didn't see a heart from you so I just want to be clear:  It's on the "10 children" thread but it isn't my post, it's @jubilant sharing her story, and it's beautiful.  Hope you read it, it's well worth a little bit of scrolling.

@LoriLori, sidebar...   I saw this post and thought it might help to mention that @chickenbutt has said she has the heart feature disabled.   I can't recall if she reads notifications or not.    Maybe she'll see these posts, though.   Hope that helps, and sorry for butting in.🙃

@CrazyDaisy  So, what do you call this thread?  There was really no need to have it other than grab whatever.

On the other hand, there also was absolutely no need for me to respond.

I disagree.  It's not a grab for attention.  These are public forums.  And because of such, any and all of us can respond to any post we want, regardless of the subject.

It's called Freedom of Speech.  We all have the right to it, whether you agree or not.  That's what makes America great.

@Call It Even, since you're new allow me to explain:

These are not public forums.  We are here at the pleasure of QVC.  They have to employ moderators to police the boards because of the number of inappropriate posts and the name-calling fights that break out.

Some of us have made good board buddies over the years, I know some have even met in person, and I hope QVC doesn't get tired of the whole thing one day and just shut it down.

There are TOS.  Here you do not have "Freedom of Speech."  Think of it as, "Thank you, QVC."

Yes, very true @LoriLori.  And nice to meet you Smiley Happy

I've laid back a bit on these boards and watched some really crazy things.  So I do understand what goes on in here.  And they are public boards.  If they were not, you would only be invited by invitation only.  Anyone can create an account without having to purchase anything  Smiley Happy  And yes, if it wasn't monitored, it would be a hot mess in here.

@Call It Even, again, they are not public boards.  If you cross a line they will give you a time out where your IP is locked out of the forums for a day or a week or whatever they deem appropriate.  If you keep getting timeouts your IP will be banned.

@LoriLori

they are public boards in that anyone can read them (even if you dont have an account and even if you dont shop with qvc) and anyone can post as long as you create a user name and password.

yes, you will get banned if you repeatedly misuse the boards. however, there are ways to get back on......AND you can still read them if you are banned.

i do believe that that is what @Call It Even is referring to.
