Yea, I got a $6 per month raise, but not so fast now. My Medicare Contribution went from $104 per month to $110 per month. The great mathematician that I have been since 3rd grade says? Guess I jumped the gun by looking at my gross before my net.
Wonder if my wife's will be the same "net zero", COLA?

The ole' bait and switch...when it comes to social security they think they're so slick. Just who do the Feds think they're fooling?
Try again next year (they will):/

I got my SS statement on Monday and was angry. It means we have had no increases in SS for two years. My Medicare went to $110.00 so there went my paltry increase. This is so wrong to do to the Seniors but it seems no one cares. They spent 2 million on researching about sneezing on food. Talk about ridiculous this is it.

If you are a retiree and want an eye opener, take a visit to your local social security office. I'll bet you will be the only retiree there. Then you'll have a better idea as to why "social security" is in deep financial trouble.

@StylishLady, I was there yesterday and have been several times this year and I saw quite a few seniors there. A couple of them that I chatted with are newly getting a benefit after retirement that social security has messed up. Same as me. I have no idea why most are there but definitely retirees are coming in. Probably SSI.

Just another slap at SS recipients. They think because we are old, that we're stupid and can't figure that out. Lord help us!!

@StylishLady I've had to do so twice recently. I'd say at least 75% of those sitting and waiting with me were clearly foreign born.
