I hope I never get so old and crotchey that I use sentences containing phrases like "young people today don't..."

My remark was not an insult!
I even noted the reason someone might not know!
Geeez!
The reason you're giving they might not know is because an old person didn't tell them. You're proving my point.

It's a garage with no walls...just a roof.
@jackiejenny @Actually, some carports have two or three walls walls here in florida and some just have a roof, floor and columns holding up the roof.
I see that now from the pics! I guess it must be a regional thing, as the carports I see are free standing unattached to a structure with no walls!
Edited to say used to see growing up...I don't see them much anymore.

These days only about 25% of teens are getting drivers' licenses. You know what that means. Not very many young people will be driving period.

Wow that's interesting. I hadn't heard or read that one. Where did you hear or read that? (Not doubting you, of course). Did they say why? I'm just curious. Thanks.

It used to be getting behind the wheel was a rite of passage for teenagers. They were often racing to the DMV on their birthdays. However, that is changing.
According to the Federal Highway Administration in 1983, 80% of 18-year-olds had their driver’s license. That number is now down to 60%.
When you look at 16-year-olds during the same time, the numbers drop from 46% to 25%.
