Re: Got a Washing Machine finally

places are suppose to handle the first yr. warranty themselves, but, what they don't tell you is when you buy the extended warrranty that starts the first day, they disregard their own one yr warranty. what happened to me at Loew's when I took out the 4 yr warranty.

they count the extended warranty from day one. So, when I tried to get help after 4 1/2 yrs. I was told warranty was no good.

ask up front they should write it down on your receipt so you'll know the exact date,  we got took.

Husband died 6-12. Plus, not too many interesting subjects and if they are they're not allowed to remain.

In our area it doesn't matter if you purchase at the big box or local family owned.  It is the same service man who comes out.  (Actually, he has retired, now his son.)

@kitty60 I still find that the sales staff at local appliance stores know far far more about what they are selling, give you more personal attention, and pay more attention to what you want.  So that's worth it for me.

Oh my, @SharkE , I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband.  I don't remember you mentioning him being sick.  Whatever the case, your heart and mind have been on other things besides this forum.  I always enjoy your posts because you say it like it is - no sugar coat Woman Wink

Again, my condolances.  Heart

Re: Got a Washing Machine finally

@tends2dogs  thank you over in Kitchen they knew about it. about 1 in the morning he woke me up and said "I got to go to hospital" I said "You having heart attack?" because he had bad high blood pressure and was being treated for it. I just thought it wasn't nothing THAT serious.

2 hrs. later he was dead. Myorcardarial infraction. 3 blocked arteries specialist came out and told me nothing they could do. He didn't smoke, drink, had cholestrol 160, weighed 150 pds. Somehow he had blocked arteries.  His father had bad heart too, but, he smoked , drank a little, never exercised lived to be 78. My husband was 71.

I'm just glad he died in June and not now they probably wouldn't have had a bed and he would had died in the hallway. He's with the lord now.

Because of my anxiety anticipation syndrome, I was a nervous wreck waiting for the delivery men. But once they were here, I was fine. My husband just told me to stay away from everything.  So I sat on the front steps of my porch while they delivered the new washer and took away the old one. My husband dealt with them.

This may or may not be helpful - Shortly after we got our new GE machines a couple of years ago, I had some questions that weren't in the manual so I called the GE ph# and the person was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

I like a company with good customer service so that was a plus.  Smiley Happy

@SharkE  I didn't see it on the Kitchen forum because I never go on there.........hate cooking Woman Wink.  That is scary that things can turn around that fast.  Knowing he is with the Lord now helps give peace and comfort.
