Got My Drivers License Renewed, 10 Minutes

DD and I headed out for the day at am.  1st stop, the Drivers License Center 11 miles from home. They open at 8:30am, we were there at 8:25am.  There was a line waiting that went across the front of the building and around the corner.  Nope, not getting in that line, I'll go next week.

Headed to central Pa. We were going down the Golden Strip in Williamsport. Plazas, a ton of fast food places, lots to look at.  I happened to look over and saw a sign, PA Drivers License Center. DD went around a block, parked and was in and out in 10 minutes with a renewed license.  Sheer luck that I saw that sign.

Good for another 4 years.

In my state, if your drivers license was renewed less than ten years ago, you can renew online for another five years. No exam or vision test required.
I renewed mine this way in July.

@deeva  I assue because of needing photo to be taken we can't renew online.

I didn't need any kind of exam.

DD also fell out of the car when I came back in 10 minutes with my new license in hand.

Our state requires a new photo every twelve years.

Renewed in MI online. I think it's every 10 yrs or so you are required to renew in person.

In NM seniors (can't remember age cut-off) must renew licenses yearly so they can have the vision test.  Makes me so angry as its quite an imposition.  Long wait, take a number and sit on hard plastic chairs amid screaming kids.  They don't charge us though.

@CrazyKittyLvr2

Was able to renew mine Online for many years. Once I reached 75, I had to go to a DMV Office to take the eye and written test to renew it, but it is now good for 7 years at a time.

A driver can only renew them online if they have had no accidents(I call them wrecks), or traffic violations since there last renewal. If so? No can do.

Makes it pretty simple for those the follow all the driving laws and don't get into "bumper cars" which other vehicles on the road.

Nice score!  Who would expect to have a 10 minute DMV visit!  Smiley Happy

Mine comes up Nov 2023 and not looking forward to it.  Maybe, since my record is clean, they will offer something online or such.  That w/b nice.

Last time I had a renewal, they offered 4yr or 8yr.  Whatever it was I paid for the 8yr, it was so worth it!   Crazy that that was already about 7 years ago, though.

Is that photo of your cat?  Adorable, simply adorable!  She (or he) looks like a cat I had years ago.
