The other story breaks my heart, so I wanted to post this one. It happened some years ago, not the 2014 date on the site. I remember it well, I cut out the story and photo and saved it.
"An unlucky child fell into the gorilla cage. She broke her arms and legs and she was unconscious. A male gorilla came and tried to hurt her. Luckily, a female gorilla rescued her by chasing other gorillas away not to hurt her. This is an instinct of mother animals that took care of their babies.
The mother gorilla climbed the 57 ft wall and took the unlucky girl to the zoo officer. The girl was sent to hospital and the doctor cured her. Thanks to mother gorilla’s kind heart."

IMHO perhaps gorillas are more compassionate then humans. The other story broke my heart.

Hold your thanks, I doubt that the mother gorilla is on this board. There is also the example of a male gorilla who protected a child that fell into the enclosure. He actually herded the other gorillas into their pen where they were locked in at night. That gave the keepers time to lock them in but one younger male defied him ran out before the gate came down. So he stood between the younger male and the child under child could be rescued. He would not let the younger male near that child. It happened some time ago, there was a story about it on tv a year or so ago.

Oh, OK, I see you mean the thanks to the mother gorilla. I think there's enough thanks for both gorillas ![]()
And thank you for the story about the male gorilla.

Thanks! That's a wonderful story!
We've seen some amazing acts of kindness from animals, too.
