@nun ya wrote:12 degrees and snow a few days ago, freesing rain and black ice this morning, and 60 tomorrow
That's been our weather here in Ohio but we had the freezing rain and ice yesterday. Today and tomorrow warm and then Friday back down into the 20's.
Last night the winds were so crazy, we had a high wind warning with gusts reaching 60mph and I believe it. I never heard wind like that in my life.

I've already been out today and thought it felt great. Was surprised just now to check and it's only 57*.
I have on jeans and a hoodie (with my pajama top on underneath...lol). If it went up to 75*, I'd just ditch the hoodie.
I think your first 60 years in the bitter cold traumatized you!

Lipstick Diva when DH was at Wright Patt we started out in Fairborn and moved to Vandalia-but the winds in both places were unbelievable: I thought that winds like that only existed on "Dark Shadows" and horror movies.
....after we put the kiddies to bed, I would look out the back window. There was a nature preserve and I loved the herds of deer that would visit ....but You could not convince me that we didn't have wolves or vampires!

Here in Colorado we are still under high wind warnings. The other day all wind speed records were shattered! It's a mess around town. Fallen trees and branches all over the place. Roofs have been completely blown off some homes and office buildings causing evacuations and closings. Animal control office said they have never gotten so many calls for escaped and lost pets. No trash pick-up either...trucks were suspended from highways because of the winds. No UPS or FedEX either....all delayed. Flights are delayed or cancelled.

Black ice on our driveway this morning soo I backed the Yukon out of the garage to tne mailbox and paper boxes to get them. No way woud I have tried walking on it.
DD skiis at GrandTarghee on Tuesdays, the roads were closed but they were able to get home another way, thank goodness. They could have stayed up there too.

Icy and slick to the point where I am scared to go on just a walk as the side walks are so slick. I fell two days ago and am so sore.. I am afraid to fall again. I look so forward to 50 or 60 degrees where there is no danger or slipping.
@SeaMaiden ~ please consider purchasing snow/ice cleats that go over your shoes...no more worries, you can run to the mailbox and give your pet a "run" for their money while walking them too! QVC, Amazon and tons of online vendors carry them.

Hi everyone! It's 9* now, with a high of 10, down to 1 tonight. Very foggy causing hoarfrost, which makes it look like a winter wonderland...better look quick though, sunset is at 4:14p🌄 and will rise at 10:01a🌅 Too wierd😕
Some of the weirdest weather I've experienced was in FL where it rained on one side of the street and was sunny and dry on the other side. In UT., some of the weirdest weather ever, snow in June, July August and September. The saying was if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes. That's where I first heard but I'm reading many say this in different states.

Don't be mad at me because you live where it is freezing cold and I don't. I have nothing to do with you living there. I was smart enough to get out of the cold when the opportunity presented itself. However, I did my time in the cold - 62 years of it.

@AKgirl2 Thank you for the suggestion. I have some ice cleats....I was wearing them when I fell. It was a thin layer of black ice...not enough ice to dig into. They are useless on the ice we had that morning.

Oh no, so sorry to hear that. That ****** black ice is horrible and so treacherous to pedestrians and motorists😱 I can see how the cleats didn't have enough ice to dig into. The worst thing about it is that it's invisible.
