@laluzdelmundo   I have also received those texts from "UPS".  I just delete them.

Re: Goofy phishing text today!

@Nightowlz    I discoved a few years ago that my home phone number (Century Link landline, which I'd previously been paying to keep unpublished) and my cell number were available on the web, LOL. I dropped the unpublished option (fee) after that.

Eventually my landline will be taken from me. My cell phone number I've had since 1996 and it would take me forever to change everything to a new number so I suppose I'll just continue to get annoying spam calls and phishing texts. Whatever... But this one was new to me.

@Kachina624   I was unaware of this scam since I don't watch TV broadcast news or belong to FB so somethings just slip by me. These Forums are often a heads up. My Roku and I live under a rock with Hulu, Netflix, et al. Oh, and YouTube home decor videos and air disaster investigations.

Re: Goofy phishing text today!

I got two emails from "Social Security" last week telling me my SS account had been "suspended for fraudulent activity". The senders' email addresses were in no way "official" looking, just looked like personal emails. This message came from two different addresses.

To top it off, it came to my work email address--which I have never used for SSA business!

I reported both emails as phishing.
