Good things coming to Campus

We received news that (drum roll please) Dunkin Donuts is coming to the campus!  We already have an Einstein Bagels and Starbucks.  We have something called a yum shop in our student commons, but it's kind of small.  Anyway Dunkin Donuts is taking over that.  It should be opened by the fall semester.  That Yum shop is moving somewhere else.  I haven't been to a Dunkin donuts in ages.  I know they've changed stuff on the menu.  Putting more emphasis on the coffee rather then the donuts.  Also we will be getting sandwiches instead of just donuts. Interesting to see what it'll be like.

With these new buildings being built on campus, they all need places to eat.  So there are more plans for that.  They are getting ready to open a new Student Life building that had been in construction for over 2 years now.  Interesting to see what kind of eating place they have. Again that is ready to open in the fall.

They have a flatbread wrap with veggie and egg white and cheese.  Delish.

Re: Good things coming to Campus

my daughters school has a number of places on campus that pretty much suits anyones wants/desires/dietary restrictions.

they also have insomnia cookies which will deliver hot, fresh cookies to your room until 3 am!

big in her area though are food trucks. they are lined up daily along the outskirts of campus and they are quite busy. some are even set up to accept the schools "dollars" if you are signed up for a plan.

I have one about a half a mile from my home and have to drive by to and from work at least.  I close my eyes each time until I cannot stand it anymore.  Some days I just have to stop.  Have a Baskin Robbins in with it, doughnuts and ice cream are hard to resist.

I forgot.  BIG on food trucks.  They pull in every morning and hang around till lunch.  Then they drive away.  Weekends too. I'm not there usually on Saturday or Sunday, but I hear they're there too. Not as many as the Fall or Spring semester, but they're there in the summer.  At least once a month, I go to the food trucks.  I also buy a half dozen Einststein bagels every 2 weeks.  I usually have to go after 1:00PM because of the crowd & long lines.  All faculty/staff are eligible for school "dollars" (they take it out of your school ID.  We have 2 walk in restaurants.  One called the Skylight (gorgeous top  floor of the commons) and the other is the dining hall True Grits.  We can eat there too.  But I usually bring my lunch.  We go to the Skylight as a group for birthdays.

My first university was HUGE.  It was land grant school covering acres & acres.  I graduated from there.  You need a bike to get around, it's too large to walk.  Anyway they had everything under the sun.  Including a McDonalds, Wendy, etc. My present school is not quite as big....but we are getting there. constant constructions and each year, a bigger student body.
