I tried this in another category and it failed, so lets try again.
I would like to hear about good deeds you do for people. I think this a good way to let other know what we do without anyone actually knowing who we are. After all we don't do good deeds to be recognized. I do them for the warm fuzzy feeling I get.
I pick up a man who is blind and take him to church every Sunday.

I know when to bite my tongue- does that count?
Doing something seemingly simple for someone can mean the world to them. Like taking that man to church!
We help out our neighbors when we can- shovel the drive for the pregnant woman when her hubby is away, check up on the elderly ones, those kind of things.

We were all sitting in a restaurant.. My two daughters my husband and I... and across from our table was a Indian family with a little girl about 8 months old of so. The mother was feeding her what looked like big chunks of food too quickly. The baby started to cough and cry. I went back to my meal when a moment later I looked up and saw the baby turning beet red she was gagging. The wife said something to her husband and he stood up and said can anyone help us please! I knew CPR but, never used it on anyone before.... No one would get up to help this family .. I had to try to help that baby. I walked over to the couple and took the baby out of the baby seat and started giving her CPR a man who worked in the restaurant came over and gave compressions while I breathed into the babies mouth after a few minutes the baby started crying and she began to pink up.. Then threw up the food she ate and then the paramedics came and took over. Steve called [My DH called them after I walked over to the couple.] The husband came over and thanked me for what I done.. I said your welcome I was glad to help. I was quite amazed and sad that in a crowded restaurant no one would get up to help or call 911 beside my husband. I was brought up to believe we are here on earth to help others. This is a wonderful thread O/P !

I am loving it!
Lets keep it going, there are a lot of good people in this world

I work with the homeless. To me, it is not a "good deed". It is giving back which is something I believe is important to do in life. We all take so much for granted, complain. Those that do not have a roof over their heads...they are the ones who are entitled to complain, IMO.

I don't consider things I do for other people or animals as good deeds. For me it is doing what I feel at certain times, "is the right thing to do at that time". Sure I could mention a whole lot of things that for some my fall under the "good deed" category, but for me they are just who I am and what I do.
Interesting thread for sure.

Good for you! Maybe the others were just stunned into inaction.

My view exactly.
That's how I was raised. What some consider good deeds is just life and how it's lived. That's how people should treat others always.

Doing good things everyday is a given for most people but who out there has paid for a meal for a family, firefighter, police officer anonymously. Has any one ever paid for the car behind them in a drive through? Has anyone ever paid for Christmas for family or bought the toy for the child in line behind you at a store. Do you bake cookies or cake and take it to your Dr's office? Have you ever given a meal to a homeless person. these are all things that I perceive to be out of the norm of everyday good deeds.
