I've always have been 5'8 3/4" tall. Now when they measure my height at my doctors yearly visit I'm exactly 5'8". I'm good with that. I love being tall. Heart

I've shrunk at least an inch, and I don't mean around my hips --- sadly!  LOL!

I always heard that your height shrinks with age, never worried much about it since I was usually so much taller, at 5'10", than others. In my early 70s now and have lost 2"! I have Levis that I've worn for probably 15-20 years that used to be the perfect length and now seem to puddle around the tops of my shoes. Now that QVC seems to think a 32" inseam is normal, guessing because they all wear stilettos with their jeans, I have to really watch the actual sizes of the inseams now. My feet have also flattened out and my size 10 since I was a teenager has moved to a 10.5, which is near impossible to find so I had to move to an 11. As another poster commented, the thunder thighs have only become more thunder-y! Yes, life can be cruel sometimes.

LOL, I'm not shrinking but the tub in my washing machine keeps getting deeper and my cabinets are crawling higher.

@Marp The last time we needed a new washer, I considered going back to a top loading model--until we got to the store, and I tried reaching into them. I could not reach the bottom of a single one!

I was 5'6" most of my adult life, but have very short arms & legs, which has limited my reaching distance to that of a person about 5'3". Now that I'm only about 5'5" at 68 years old, the distance has lessened even more.

@eadu4,  in place of a step stool to reach the bottom of the washer I use tongs.  They come in various lengths and I have one that stays in the laundry area.

Re: Good Gosh I've Shrunk

[ Edited ]

I was shocked a few years ago when I discovered that I lost almost two inches!

ETA:  It makes me feel better that there are many of us women who are under 5'2". I'm not so odd.... I am now 5'1".  I really don't like being so short.

Also need a step stool to get deep in my chest freezer..Good thing it's never that empty or I might fall in!

That stick at Dr's office says I've shrunk an inch, yet my jeans drag about two inches, or sneak under my heels with clogs.  DH?  He's shrunk about 2 inches and all his jeans are frayed.

I am so relieved to see that I am not alone in this.  I went to the Dr. last week and when I was measured I was told I am 5'5" - I almost had heart failure!  I have always been 5'7" and could not believe I shrunk 2".
