@Biftu I try to find a long item hanging along the aisle - maybe tongs or a wooden spoon or handeled scrubber. I reach as high as I can and try to knock down the item I want. It usually works, but if that doesn't work, I rely on the kindness of strangers. ![]()

Same thing happened to my Mom years ago, she had worn a long gown and wanted to wear it again 11 years later, and it was many inches too long on her and had to be greatly altered.

LOL, I'm not shrinking but the tub in my washing machine keeps getting deeper and my cabinets are crawling higher.

Yep, I'm in the same boat. I actually had my yearly physical yesterday and doc measured me at 5' 2.5". Last year I was 5' 3.5". How can I loose a whole inch in a year?! I think she measured wrong! Sheesh. But, I do know that I seem to need that darn step stool more and more. Might have to get a holster for the long handled kitchen tongs so they're always on my hip and at the ready for reaching things. ....i yi yi......

@Marp Yes! The washing machine is getting deeper! Darn near fall in trying to reach the stuff on the bottom of the tub!

@LdyBugz I am off to the restaurant supply Monday. I think they have the kind with the padded red handles that are super long. Thank you for the idea. Maybe I can also use them to get things I have dropped. My doctor said to not bend over to pick up items. It makes my acid reflux flare.
I am officially at the stage of life where items must be at eye level, or I need assistance. I bought one of those grabber things. It had no gripping power. I think I need the heavy duty industrial model that will pick up a bowling ball.

I think it's part of the aging process. I was 5'5" for most of my adult life. Now I'm 5'3". It snuck up on me in my mid to late 50s. In inch here, an inch there.

You get shorter b/c you have lost cartilage, bone and muscle. Exercise can help.

@SilleeMee You are correct...I still run at 68 and ride the peloton. Have worked out and played sports all my life since age of 12. I'm 68 and still stand at 5'11. No shrinkage here. 6"2' in heels 👠
