The number sounds bad, but my boy is very tall - like 26" at his shoulders. He was at the vet today and weighed in at 103 lbs. I was shocked because he doesn't look fat to me. He gets a grain free dry dog food that's around 27% protein. I feed him twice daily - 2 cups in the morning and 2 cups in the afternoon. He gets no more than 3 Milkbone biscuits a day. I don't think it's reasonable to expect him to weigh 75 lbs. like the charts indicate since he's taller than average, but I think this might be too much. How do I help him trim down a little without starving him? I'm sure we can exercise him a little more, but do I change his food get him a food with a higher protein percentage so I can feed less while he still feels satisfied? Help, please.
