Going to a broadway show

[ Edited ]

We (my sister, my sister-in-law and myself) are going to see a Broadway show titled: Six.  It's a musical. Since it will take a lot besides the show & dinner, we decided to go up there via the train and spend the night. None of us wanted to take turns driving. Our hotel is between Times Square and the Park.  I think it's called the Manhattan Club. It has two bathrooms and a kitchenette. Anyone been there?  It looks nice.  Seems to be in a reasonably decent area. We aren't going till June, but I'm very excited about it.  Although I've been there several times, I've never seen a Broadway show.  I think it'll take about 3 hours from Maryland to New York via train

Lucky you!!! I haven't been to the Manhatten Club but it all sounds great.  The theatre should be so much fun. I believe that play is based on the six wives of Henry VIII.   I would love to see it.

Lucky you!  I miss seeing Broadway plays.  I am not familiar with the hotel, so being nosey, I had to google it.  Looks very nice.  And you should be just a few blocks from Broadway.

Have a wonderful time!

@songbird My husband and I are going to see Six on February 4th.  We live about a 2 hour train ride from NYC and we are seeing a matinee so we are just going up for the day.

The Manhattan Club had been a time-share and I haven't stayed there in years. My friend owned the time-share. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. It's a convenient location for theater.

Hope you have a nice time.

Re: Going to a broadway show

@songbird I am so excited for you!

My friend's aunt used to work for Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgewick (Name drop!).

She let my friend & I come & stay with her for 6 days. I think it was 2015.

We went to the lottery every day & got tickets to shows for $10.

We saw Hairspray (With Ashley Parker Angel) one day, 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee one day, Chicago (With Joey Lawrence) one day & my friend got to see Wicked one day.

We only won one ticket for Wicked, so the aunt & I went to the movies instead.

We stayed in her tiny 1 room (Kitchen, living room, bedroom) & a teeny bathroom, apartment. You could touch the building next to hers if you opened the window in the shower.

She lived on the 3rd floor (No elevator.) above a deli.

It was the best time I have ever had.

We went everywhere! She knew all of the best ways to get places the easiest. Train, bus. taxi.

We had pizza at an outdoor pizza place & when I was leaving I heard a voice I recognized.

I turned around & it was Laura Gellar. I smiled & she gave me the sweetest smile!

@songbird It sounds like you have a wonderful adventure in store. If you have not chosen a restaurant for dinner the day of the show, you might want to go to Sardi's. It is a part of the Broadway experience. Just sitting at your table and looking at the walls of history displayed there makes the experience uniquely memorable.

Oh.. this is sooo wonderful!!  I'm soo excited for you!    for y'all!

Sounds like a wonderfully, total, exciting, entertaining, & bonding event.  Most ppl remember, at least, their 1st Live Show, (esp B'way)!  And y'all are making a "total event" of this!

If you have access to "Opera Glasses," consider bringing them, just in case!  And any special "dress up" that you feel comfortable, & gorgeous in!  And dont forget to take pics of y'all!

And my gosh!

Have   a WONDERFUL TIME!!  Woman Happy

I know you will!!   Woman Very Happy
