Glass bowl

I bought a HEAVY glass bowl with a nice snug lid at Hobby Lobby. I had in mind that a nice fruit salad or bean salad would look pretty served in it at a potluck. When I was washing it and peeling off the stickers, I notice one said "For Decorate Purposes Only". That got me to thinking that...of course, HL doesn't sell kitchen dishes. So, my question is, do you think it is safe to use for the above purposes, or is there a real difference in glass products. I would not cook or microwave in it, just serve in it. Opinions?
