I think I prefer practical gifts too--but not scrub daddys or micro fiber whatevers; heck, I can buy those things any day. I just bought myself a new cookware set that I have been coveting for a few months and my kids are going to chip in the cost. Now that makes me happy. And I have to admit that if I am jonesing for something personal, I buy it myself. I don't need anything anymore and frankly, have way more than I need.

I have really, really been so disappointed in QVCs offerings this year in gift assortment. I am even disappointed in their decorating shows. Something about them were just not quite up to par. It is like the "magic" has gone out of shopping on Q altogether. Oh well, it saves me tons of money.

I posted on another thread that once the gift shows start I quit watching. I would never gift anyone with the stale inventory passed off as gifts. I love a practical gift also but not dusters and scrub daddies. That's what I put on my household shopping list not a gift list.

I agree, I would not buy a lot of the things Q sells for gifts for anyone. I also wouldn't buy 200 dollar purses or any expensive item (or clothing on Q due to the fit).
But I must say this, (which is funny and kind of contradicts what I just said!) My daughter asked me 2 months ago if I can get her poopouri again. I never gave it for a gift BUT I did give her some of mine to carry with her because she has Crohns and now she wants more.
So I may get a set soon (for me), and give her some for Christmas but I wont add it in to her gift amount or anything and I would never buy it for someone else as a gift. I will just tell her that I got it when I bought mine and hand it to secretly. (And yes it does work, it is a good product but I just think its weird to get someone for a gift).

I'm not even pining away wishing the shopping channels would give me ideas for gifts, not watching unless I have already seen online there is something I am interested in.

As far as the Q goes, even though the offerings aren't as great as other years, I'm grateful for the minamal amount of cheezy gifts they used to offer just a few years back...remember those coin banks...oy! I thought we'd never stop seeing those things...
