Am I off-base or is America not pining away desiring such things as featured on "Gifts under $100," today. I wouldn't think of giving a battery charger, scrub daddies, step ladder, or dusters as a gift. This looks like the same old uninspired junk they sell 24/7/365, but now it's in the guise of "gifts". Doesn't QVC have buyers whose job it is to find desirable, unique things we'd be proud to give? No, I don't mean Poo-Pourri either.

Just when you think the programming can't get any worse..........it does. Can it possibly go any further downhill? I think not, it has reached rock bottom.

Years ago QVC would offer items from other countries and I loved the shows, Russia, Poland,Egypt China, Indonesia,, Israel, Germany, the U.K. and more. The price ranged from $ -$$$ and there was always something unique to offer.
-sigh-

@Kachina624 this is one of the points that QVC and I have parted ways. If I have $100 to spend, none of those items would ever be on my list of possibilities. I totally get that they still have push more utilitarian items during the holiday season but for me this is not the way to do so.
It's also impacted my watching of ITKWD as I had always looked forward to his shows but now the products have become so expected and also their inserting of products that just do not belong in that show has ruined it for me. Bummer as I always looked forward to his shows.

They went to pretty much all house brands, and my money goes elsewhere.

You are right on! I also think if they want to make this season special, they need to offer free gift boxing! The idea of spending $5.00 for a sloppily made box with a gift tag placed in a bad spot and crooked, to boot, with no bow is robbery! There is much competition today and they need to step up their acts! I think it should be free shipping 24/7/365 because I can buy here and not pay anything! Plus, I see the condition my item is in before I buy! If they must, add the price of shipping into the item, but don't tell me it costs X dollars then I find out it costs yo to ship! The other thing I hate is when they quote one of the easy payments as the cost! I listen to the tv while I do other things, so I hear the price, not see it! Besides, the price seems to have gotten smaller on the screen! So, yes! The gifts should be new, unique, well-priced items if they want us to buy or even keep watching!

Now I'm just the opposite - love practical gifts. When I worked I gave those kinds of practical gifts rather than scarves, candles, smelly stuff, ornaments, jewelry, etc that was never used or wanted. Those getting the practical gifts always really liked them and often wanted to know where I got them. Give me a practical gift that I can actually use. Most other things are just a waste of money. I gave the ladder to many family members and it's a gift still used and not relegated to the attic or basement to collect dust. One of the best gifts I ever got was the Beast battery charger also! I don't know what those complaining would consider a desirable gift since none are ever mentioned.
