I am Irish and definitely believe in spirits and Guardian Angels.  I can think of several incidents in my life that I know only turned out OK because of my Guardian Angel.

Ghost stories:  When my Mother died my brother and I were just beside ourselves wondering how we were going to get through the burial.  I was standing at the grave and I felt this "touch" on my shoulders that I can't describe and I immediately felt that "peace that passes understanding"  Later my brother called me his den to talk in private and said he wanted to tell me something.  Well the same thing had happened to him, he described it exactly as I had felt it.  I know it was our Mother.  I would love to have that feeling again but I know it is not of this world.

My uncle was in charge of a division on an Island during World War II.  He didn't tell me this story until I was in my 20's.  But during the night he was awakened by a touch and saw my mother's dead husband who was his best friend standing there.  He had just died of pneumonia right before penicillan was discovered. Turns out they were surrounded by enemy forces ready to attack while they were sleeping.  My uncle was a rough tough guy and kept this to himself for a long time.

After we graduated I went out with a boy I went to high school with. His father had died when he was 14.  One night he felt he could tell me this and I would understand.  He said that his father would come to sit on his bed some nights.

Here is my true ghost story:  When my daughter was about 8 we had a cat named Rocky.  A little grey striped cat with a stubby tail.  Well, one night he didn't come home. After awhile we knew he wasn't coming back. My daughter would tell me she could see Rocky sitting behind her when she looked in the full length mirror in her bedroom.  I told her she only imagined him there, we all missed him.  She and that cat were crazy about each other.

One day I watched my daughter walk into the bathroom and right behind her walked Rocky...he was kind of misty looking but he WAS there.  This is something I will never ever forget.  I know what I saw. It wasn't scary just inspiring.

I have had many experiences, all with family members who have passed. A recent one was a sighting of the former owner of my condo; at least I believe it was him. While I usually sleep on my back, this night I was sleeping with my back towards my bedroom door. Something made me wake up. When I turned over I saw a tall Caucasian man standing in the door. He said "hmmpft", turned, and left. After a second or two, I went back to sleep. It never occurred to me to get up to investigate at the time.

When I purchased the condo in late 2018, this man did not attend the closing due to ill health. When searching on the internet for a picture of him, I could only find that he was at least 90 years old. I asked a maintenace man here who knew of him if he could remember what he looked like, but he could not.

Re: Ghost Sightings?

[ Edited ]

A little long but here goes.

My Mom passed in her home in 2019. A day later I was in her house starting to make arrangements, heard a knock at the door, went and opened it and no one was there. Went to the back door thinking they might have gone to try there. No one.

The following day, my best friend was there with me, I was on the phone, she motioned to me that someone was at the door. Phone in hand I opened the door and, you guessed it, no one! I then told her what had happened the day before. We got a shiver. So happy my friend had heard the knocking too!

An hour or so later I realized Mom's antique pendulum school clock in her kitchen that we always called "the heart of the house" had stopped. It was an old school clock that had a date hand in addition to the time hands. My friend  was still with me as I climbed up to try to re-wind the clock. No matter how many times I moved the hands that date hand wouldn't move. It was stuck on the date 2 days prior, the day she died. I had to use force to get that hand to move on the dial. My friend and I were a little shook. I said "Hi Mom, glad you are here with us!" Nothing odd happened after that. There was an estate sale and the house was sold. I assume she moved on.

I knew it was her and I miss her everyday.

Wow, some of these stories gave me goosebumps!!

I am a true believer in ghosts and have had a few unexplainable events in my life.

I'll just give one example.   In my previous home I would wake in the night and see my grandmother standing at the end of the bed.  It was never scary, it was just her , standing there smiling.  This happened quite often.  Several years ago I went with a bunch of girls from my office to listen to a spiritual speaker.   I sat very quiet and listened as the stories were quite intrigueing as are these.  I didn't want to participate, just observe.   The woman came over to our table and said to me, "your grandmother visits you doesn't she?"  I almost fell off my chair........

The EMILY MORGAN HOTEL---San Antonio

The hotel is considered the third most haunted hotel in the world due to the number of mysterious reports people have given.

Mysterious Occurrences

The staff and guests of the hotel have shared their stories about weird occurrences at the hotel. These moments of weirdness have led some to conclude the hotel is haunted. For example, the phone will ring in the middle of the night and when picked up, there is no one on the other end of the line. A room attendant will clean a room and after emerging from the bathroom, will find the pillows from the bed were tossed to the ground.

A sales manager spending the night returned to her room after dinner to find the bathtub had been filled with blue water.

The staff has made several reports of seeing doors close for no reason and feeling a presence on certain floors with no one else around.

At one time this was a Medical Arts Building, with a morgue in the basement. Guests have heard what they describe as hospital carts outside their door, and the 14th floor has a distinct smell of antiseptic or a bandaid odor.

The elevators will stop at various floors for no clear reason. Video cameras have captured "orbs", a term used by paranormal investigators to describe bright floating lights, around the hotel.

Some guests have reported seeing a woman in white walking the halls and others have reported shadows moving along walls where no shadow should be.

Emily Morgan hotel follows the traditional superstition of a lot of other hotels and does not have a 13th floor. What many people do not know about the hotel is on the 14th floor, there isn't a room 1408. The room numbers stop at 1407, by design, and the next room is the Duke Suite. When you add the numbers 1408 together (1+4+0+8), you get the number 13.
