Getting depressed reading some of these topics.
Best thing to do is not read certain posts. If you start reading them and you feel bad doing so?
Even though I have posted some about some bad things happening to my wife and myself I always want to leave a positive spin on those things. As an optimist I look towards the days as getting better regardless of the health issues or whatever else these things might be.
I do not read any of the stories here about animal cruelty as I see enough of it from our own home with animals being dumped off on the highway by our home. With my wife working with a Boxer Rescue Organization there are usually nothing but sad stories about where they get the Boxers from this 5 state area.
When someone is talking about their family or their pets I do read their story. I want to be able to let them know that there are many others that have gone, or are still going through, the same types of sad situations that are heart breaking.
There aren't always answers but there can always be a positive look towards the future regardless of the present circumstances. One should at least wait and see when it comes to unknown outcomes of certain bad things happening in their lives.

Gratitude sets us free. I agree with you, QualityGirl. It would be interesting to view a study in progress about how our vital signs respond to negative stimuli. I agree with John -- personal interest stories don't deflate me. Griping, attacking other individuals, and habitually sharing tragic things are a buzz kill.

Oh boy, I know what you mean. I've always been an optimist, as is DH. Now, my mother is living with us as she can't live alone anymore. Sometimes I feel so sorry for her, as she has outlived a lot of people in her generation. Morals, values, and technology has changed so much from what she was used to most of her life. As hard as it is for us to listen to her pessimism, it must be much more difficult for her to live in a totally different world than what she was used to.

Thanks for making me smile, folks. Being an older person myself. Maddison, I can understand how your Mom doesn't feel she fits in with today's society but since there's nothing I can do about it, find the way for me is to turn it all over to God and go on to notice the beautiful things that still go on around me. Yes, we do miss our friends but then I have the promise that I will see them again and that really makes me smile. Give your Mom a cyber hug for me!
Really appreciate the fact that you have taken your Mom to live with you, Maddison. Tells me your Mom needs to be thankful every day to have you for a daughter; many are not so fortunate.

There is always someone worse off then me on my worst day and that's how I look at it. I have a wonderful family and home. I have a job and and so many blessings. I thank god everyday.Getting depressed reading some of these topics.

I think most people who post on here about something that is bothering them probably have full lives...this is after all, QVC not a psychiatrist office so I wouldn't let anything I read on here get me depressed if you really mean that!! I think it's great to have an anonymous place to post an issue you're having and get unbiased opinions to maybe help you see things for what they are. I don't think it means people live "down" lives..they are just adventurous and willing to put it out there and see what enlightenment others might give them..I wouldn't take any of it too much to heart
it's not that serious most of the time![]()
