I made an edit to my post so that the mods do not think I'm trying to rekindle closed threads, because I am not.

The link is to the Youngbloods song "Get Togethet".

Here are the lyrics.  The song was also in Forrest Gump in case some were too young in the 60's to remember the song.  With edit by me.  Written by Chester Powers and Chester Powers Jr.

Love is but a song to sing
Fear's the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Though the bird is on the wing
And you may not know why

(Chorus)
Come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now

Some may come and some may go
We shall surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moment's sunlight
Fading in the grass

(Chorus)

If you hear the song I sing
You will understand (listen!)
You hold the key to love and fear
All in your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both
It's there at your command

I said, come on people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another
Right now
Right now
Right now

@cherry  Bless you Cherry.  Just wanted to start the morning off with one of my all-time favorite songs.  Written for the 60's but timeless.

DH and I are taking a ride out shortly with my camera to quieter areas in the hill country.

For peace and clarity, to just listen.

So I hope everyone can be still for a while today; relax with a favorite cuppa, know that somebody cares for you today.

This is certainly a perfect song for our times @Cakers3. I could hear the music in my head as I read the lyrics (because I'm plenty old enough to remember the song lol).  Great choice and a sorely needed reminder.

@shoesnbagsWe saw the YoungBloods in concert and Jesse Colin Young as a solo performer.

Of course back in those days many concerts were in much more intimate settings.

I'm glad you enjoyed this.

I love Jesse Colin Young!  Of course, "Ridgetop" is a favorite.

Jonathan Edwards and Steve Forbert, too.

Of course Dylan.

Mine too! How could you not love these lyrics. Our theme song around here...

Now, when I built my house
I cut six trees to clear out the land
But there's thirty or more left
And you know that they're gonna stand
It's a squirrel sanctuary
They think this woods is their home
And as long as I'm here
I'll make sure people leave us all alone
Yes, the hill that I live on is steep
And the road's full of ruts
And the people who live in the flatlands
Think we folks are nuts
But the ruts in my road and the curves
Keep the tourists at bay
And it's lonesome and peaceful
And you know I like it that way
