If you have to go, going in your sleep doesn't sound bad.  Rip George.  You will be missed by many.

I know I should not use "gorgeous" to describe a male,  but I always thought he was gorgeous, especially when his hair was longer.  So sorry to see you go, George.

I agree!  I always thought he was so hot!

One of my best friends in junior high used to carry his picture around inside her notebook.  She always referred to him as "beautiful."  😊

I saw one of his concerts in Philly with a friend.  We were in our forties and screaming like teenagers!!  He was a great performer, handsome as hell .  .  .  the concert was one of the best I had seen.

My urge is to immediately go to YouTube, but I doubt I'll get in.  I'll wait a couple of days to view my favorites.

Very sad.

My favorites are "Everything She Wants," when he was still part of Wham, and his in-concert performance of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me," where during the song, he brings Elton John onstage to join him, much to the surprise and delight of the audience. They then complete the song as a duet.

Granted,  I have never been a fan of the rock genre of music,  but I have never even heard of George Michael.   Furthermore,  he doesn't look even slightly familiar.

I just heard he died of heart failure.   It's amazing how many professional musicians and actors in their 40s, 50s and 60s have died in the past year of heart disease.   Years of drug and body abuse seem to have a way of catching up to people.

George Michael  touched just about every genre of music- rock, pop and soul. He even sang with Tony Bennett.  I think he jsut missed rap!

I was at the 2008 concert in Philly- it was awesome! I feel blessed that I saw him - he was terrific and so appreciative of his fans.

It's always sad to read someone, particularly young, has died.  I enjoyed his music.  My favorite was One More Time.

Recently I saw a video of him with James Corden.  I would not have recognized him.  The years have not been kind to him.  From time to time there would be articles in tabloids about his health.  It makes me wonder if there was some truth to them.

May he RIP and may all who loved him find comfort in the many recordings he left behind.

What a seminal video "Freedom" was.  Anyone could lip read, it was so clear what was being said.  Haunted eyes, beautiful words - and it applies all around, not just what some may conclude.  How I love that recording.  I sat in my truck today and made my own little video as I sang along.
