The man lived a great life so am not heartbroken but am sad for the family---he is with his beloved wife now. I'm sure that was the last thought he had!!

Barbara Bush used to sit on the steps of the South Portico at the White House, waiting for George Bush to return from trips. I thought of this picture tonight, and how happy she must be that he's coming home to her again.

Thank you to all that have shared such kind thoughts and also to those that have shared such wonderful pictures. It was so great to see him so happy, healthy and covered with his beloved pets . . .

My favorite photos of all presidents are with their pets. They speak to me of the mens' kindness and sensitivity. Blessings to the Bush family, such a meaningful legacy.
