General Info On Cricut Machines, Please

Hi,

Could any one please tell me the uses of a Cricut machine and if you think they are worth it?

I would primarily want it for producing seasonal/ holiday images for the windows,etc. Am I correct in thinking I can do that with a Cricut? Also, does it cut fabric?
