I am very happy with Gabby and glad I went and sprung him from the shelter. He is settling in here well and getting familiar with our routine. He came to us dirty, smelling of urine,a sore on his back pad, upper respiratory infection, and his coat was rough to the touch. The first day, I cleaned his back pad and put peroxide on it. Then brushed him, which Homer adored, but Gabby does not really like. He smelled better the next day, as he has a clean box to use everyday. The first couple of days, he ate like there was no tomorrow. I think he only had dry food, ever, but now enjoys the canned food, with gravy, please. He kept sneezing, sometimes with blood. We went to the vet, who prescribed Clavomox for any secondary infections, and Robutussin expectorant, Afrin nose spray, and a humidifier to break up the mucus. Gabby is not Homer when it came to medicine. He bites, scratches, runs, foams at the mouth, and yowls like he is being tortured. No wonder the good doctor had a smirky smile on his face. The virus has broken up now, thank God. He loves the lanei and sits there for hours watching the squirrel and birds. He loves exploring our courtyard and garage. He plays with Homer's old fur mouse and chases and tosses it in the air. I don't think he could be more than 2 years old. His coat is getting smooth and soft. He has a lot to say and is starting to come to his name. The pugs and he get along fairly well, although I think my boy puglet is a little jealous. Gabby is going to be one handsome cat and a wonderful addition to our family
