As I posted over in the tv/movie section, i had my doubts before watching it. But I ended up loving the show! I think everyone did a fantastic job!

I saw  the show on Broadway and it was very good, I also saw the movie  which I liked also. So, I am passing on this movie for television... I remember when they tried that a few years ago with the 'sound of music' movie and it was very bad.

It's amazing that Vanessa Hudgens was able to sing like that, just hours after her Father passed away.

I watched the whole thing and will agree that it was a bit too long and actually dragged in a few spots.  The way they managed the sets was quite impressive.

The big disappointment for me was the actor who played Danny Zuko.  While his acting, singing, and dancing were fine, he did nothing for me in the romance department.  There was absolutely no chemistry between Julianna Hough and him.

It did lag in some parts, IMO.  I think that's on purpose because they're setting up the next scene or there are some technical things they need some time to do.  It's amazing that it's a live broadcast.

I think these live broadcasts are a great thing for tv and for promoting the arts.  And I'm certain one of these days they will come up with one that I actually like.  The Sound of Music is one of my all time favorites, but alas, I'm not a Carrie Underwood fan.  I never cared for Peter Pan or Grease.  But I have high hopes for the next one!!!

Re: GREASE LIVE!!!

[ Edited ]

I thought the live audience applauding when Kinicky drove his car in front of the high school very out of place and distracting.  I guess someone forgot to say "quiet on the set."

Also didn't understand the cheerleading tryout scene in front of the school, lol don't remember that in the original.

Thought that the woman who played Marty did a great disservice to the original movie with her vapid and boring interpretation at the dance plus should have worn a padded bra to be curvier.  Marty was not flat chested nor was Rizzo.

I just could not get into this.  I remember seeing Grease and loving it and I wanted it done in it's original form, not made PC.  I thought it was too long and I grew tired of it.

I heard that the ratings, while good, weren't close to what they were hoping for.
