How sad.  I didn't realize he was 83.  I thought he was much younger I don't know why. Loved him in a lot of fims.  Love the song "Pure Imagination" from Willie Wonka.

He was very talented.  Hope he's with Gilda now.

I will definitely miss his presence in the world. 

He was so much fun to watch! I loved him as Willy Wonka. I think that was my favorite role for him. 

He was funny in all of the other roles mentioned, too.

So sorry to hear this. I admired him not just for his talent but also for his fierce love for his wife, Gilda Radner.

No one has mentioned this movie so far but I also loved his performance with Richard Pryor in Silver Streak. That was one of my mom's favorite movies and I can remember clearly both of us watching it together, laughing so hard until there were tears running down our cheeks. Does anyone remember the scene where Richard Pryor's character is trying to teach him to act "Black and be cool?" I'm grinning just thinking about that scene!
