Re: Furious at CVS Covid testing

[ Edited ]

If you are anywhere waiting for a COVID test, you should be wearing a mask, whether you are in your car or not.  When I drove up, there was a huge sign that stated a mask must be worn.  Your windows had to be up at all times and you were not to roll your window down until you were instructed to do so.  You were not to pull your mask down until you were instructed to do so.

I cannot imagine anyone with common sense thinking it would be okay for them to pull up to be COVID tested and not have a mask on, for the safety of the people working there and administering the test.

I would not have sat in my car for 90 minutes however, CVS should have better protocols in place for this testing.

As an aside, I was not given hand sanitizer either when I had my test done however, my was done to me.  I didn't do it myself so nothing was exchanged between the employee and me.  And I also keep hand sanitizer in my purse which I used as I drove up and again when I drove away.

I don't understand why people are expected to wear a mask in their car if their windows are up. If windows are open, I can see why, but the other makes no sense to me. Many things don't make sense this year, anyway.

Re: Furious at CVS Covid testing

That's why I use the disposable medical masks, I can talk through them.  I see people with those cloth masks and I always wonder what it sounds like when they talk, if they remove the masks when they talk.  As for hand sanitizer, I have that in my handbags and in my car.  I would not expect a store or business to provide it.  We are in the midst of pandemic, so we can't expect that there won't be concessions to make.  It's a good thing that CVS provides the test and anyone who wants to can get a test.  In your situation my only concern would have been having to wait in line for a half hour.  So now you know when yo know when they do the tests and you can act accordingly.

Just a typical inefficient and not so smart way of doing business---that's CVS for you!!!....

Sounds like CVS is more concerned about making it  easier for their employees rather than practicing safety and convenience for customers....  Id file a complaint with corporate (check their website)....or if you city has a Co-Vid Hot Line to report concerns contact them....

That's why I transferred my prescriptions to Walgreens got tired of all CVS's mixups, errors, and incompetence ....

Some of us don't have a choice.  My husband and I have pharmacy coverage from work and we can only use CVS or have our prescriptions filled by some out of state pharamcetical company and mailed to us.  We chose CVS.  If we had a choice we would use our local independent pharmacy.  My sister chose a Medicare HMO plan and she has to use CVS too.

I still can't understand why the OP waited in that long line and didn't just go in for her prescription. Now she's worried about germs? She could have gone in, picked up her prescription and been back to her car without any aggrivation or worries. Wear a mask, wipe your hands when you get back to your vehicle....done.

I switched to the disposable masks and find them to be more comfortable as well as easier to be understood when talking, @chrystaltree.

As an aside and not related you your post, I think this thread has outlived its purpose, as everybody seems to be saying that same thing now to the OP.

While you are sitting in your car, windows closed, and unmasked, breathing out, filling the confined space with covid virus if infected then open your window where do you suppose that built up virus goes? Right into the face of the one doing the test.

Does no one have the ability to reason and draw conclusions these days?
