Re: Furious at CVS Covid testing

I pick up some of my scripts from the drive-through at Walgreen's. I would never, ever wait 1-1/2 hours. I'd wait 15 minutes at the most. If it takes longer than that, I'm outta there.

@cozyseeker Do you have Walgreens in your city? In my city, Walgreens is MUCH better than CVS - all the way around. I'd definitely just switch to Walgreens....and not go back to CVS.

Over the years, I've tried aeveral chain pharmacies, none of which was particularly great.

Then I read that Walmart is the largest retailer worldwide and has the best bargaining power with manfacaturers AND pharmaceiutical companies, hence, the best discounts.

There are many countries where the name on the storfront is something else, but it's still Walmart.

I'm still not getting why she is "furious" at CVS.    Because she had to wait, no hand sanitizer,  what?   Keep sanitizer in you car.. problem solved.  I personally do not think this is a case for the board of health.

ITA, and why anyone would sit in a drive thru for 1 1/2 houtrs is a real head scratcher.  She could have run out of gas, LOL  She should have just gone inside and picked up her meds.   No problemo.

@Tinkrbl44 @Junebug54 From the original post, it sounds they're more worried about contracting the COVID virus than the wait time.  Our local CVS has signs posted along the drive up lane that COVID testing is being done and wait times will be longer than normal.

Re: Furious at CVS Covid testing

After 25 years i was forced to go to CVS two years ago.  My small pharmacy closed and they referred all rx to cvs.  Being we only have a couple pharmacies in town.  I hate them.  They are always out of meds, or strengths.  They take days to fill, and i learned the hard way you wont find out until you go to pick up if they have the drug.  Their lines are murderous.  They yak, take their their time an dare so disorganized it can take 45 mins to pick up a script.  They are cheaper, but idon't care.  I paid  more to go to my small pharmacy for less stress and headaches, and the  service, also they always were friendly and on time.  They had a huge business, but they were just better organized.

CVS stores are dirty, and just not dependable.  I dont know a person in town who likes them, but we dont have a lot of choice.  When they were longs it was so nice, they were my favorite place to shop, and so handy,  one thing bothers me a lot, they use the paper from one tree to giveyou all those coupons

Re: Furious at CVS Covid testing

My pharmacy drive up is set up like a bank where a tube takes things back and forth.  I put a latex glove over the phone and put a glove on the hand I use to hold it and pick up the tube when it comes back with my prescriptions.   I immediately drop the prescription out of the bag and throw away the gloves and bag when I get home.

Re: Furious at CVS Covid testing

Why would anyone wait in line for an hour and a half?

Would have been able to see what was going on with the cars in front, obviously not picking up prescriptions.  If uncomfortable why stay?  Ones around here put out signs the hours testing is taking place.

Would have think the store was following precautions between tests, how do you know they were not?

Sounds like an overreaction or a nice story.

I would contact my local Board of Health to see what they have to say.  This whole situation just doesn't sound right.
